Osceola County - County Held Certificate Sale

The Osceola County Held Certificate sale will be available on www.BidOsceola.com on Friday, August 1, 2008. The sale will include approximately 3300 county held certificates. Buyers can review the the list of liens, prepare to purchase and submit purchase requests on August 1st. All certificates will be sold at 18%.

In order to access the website and purchase these certificates you will need to:
1. Sign in to www.BidOsceola.com.
2. Click on the Results tab.
3. Under the heading of Batches, select from the drop down list "All completed batches."
4. Under the heading Bidder, select form the drop down list "Struck to the county."
---You should now have a list of all the certificates that will be involved in the sale.


New Temporary License Plates Law

Effective May 28, 2008, all temporary license plates must be displayed in the license plate bracket on the exterior of the vehicle and may no longer be displayed in the window.


New Motorcycle License Regulations Update

Beginning July 1, 2008, all first-time applicants for a motorcycle license (endorsement or motorcycle-only license) must present proof of completion of a motorcycle safety course prior to issuance. We will no longer issue temporary motorcycle instruction permits. After June 30, 2008, the Driver License and Tax Collector Offices will not administer any tests for those seeking an endorsement, even if they had a 90-day temporary permit for motorcycle license or endorsement.

New Laws Effective October 1, 2008

Ch. Law 2008-176, Laws of Florida, includes a number of changes relating to driver license issuance, including required identifying documents. Drivers who are 79 years of age and under will begin being issued eight year licenses. Those older than 80 will continue to receive six year licenses.

Any person who knowingly loans a vehicle to a person with suspended driver license and a crash results will have their license suspended for one year.


"Valid in Florida Only" Driver Licenses Legislative Update

Driver Licenses that are
"Valid in Florida Only" may not be issued or renewed effective July 1, 2009.
